Julie & Julia

This is actually a true story, or shall i say true stories. The story is about Julia Child's struggle to become a professional chef and Julie Powell's challenge to cook all of the recipes in Julia Child's first book. What i really love about the movie is the way Julie was inspired by Julia. Julia's challenge is to cook 524 recipes in just 365 days...what the hell? I mean, not even my mom can do that kind of thing. Of course, my mom's cooking sucks -which she already knows,- so that doesn't count. I mean...unbelievable. How the hell can someone cook 524 recipes in just 365 days? Does she cook like, five meals per day? Ugh, math is so freaking hard!
Anyway, i haven't read the book yet so i cant blog about it yet. -I know, i know, i know....we should judge a book for the book's cover-. But i did watch the movie, and the movie itself was just...FANTASTIC! And you can't get that kind of comment from me that easily!
One of the things i love the most is...the food. Nah, im just kidding. But of course, you really cant help drooling while you watch the movie. The thing that inspired me the most was Julie. I mean, she tried to do a book before but she didn't finish it because she thought that, nobody would publish the book. She was just a normal gal working in Manhattan. I was really impressed that she could cook and blog at the same time. Well, not really the same time but...well...you know. She actually did all of those...recipes in a small apartment. I mean, give the lady some credit!
What i love about Julia Child is that...she is a legend! She really tried her best to achieve her goal, and that is...to become a chef and to publish her on book.
Maybe that's the lesson in this movie. "Hard work comes great success!" is one of my favorite quotes. Something that i try to do in my own life. Also one of my favorite lines in this movie is "bon appetite!". I just love the sound of french language in the morning, don't you?
